A tall unglazed candle stick, hand-thrown and carved for us in iron-rich stoneware by Symy Ong a mile or so from the Objects of Use store. Bringing to mind the Greco-Roman columns of antiquity this candle holder makes a thoughtful addition to any table setting, and will accommodate and was designed for our dipped beeswax dinner candles. Ong, who apprenticed for a year with a Japanese wood-fired pottery, has recently set up studio in Oxford, making stoneware pieces which are fired in a gas kiln. Measures approximately 8cm in diameter at the base, and is 13cm tall. Variation is to be expected given the hand-made nature of this product.
