The grass hook is a heavier sickle shaped hook used for cutting back long grass, thick weeds, brambles, light brush clearing, and hacking back green new growth stems. Handcrafted of carbon steel with a 14cm turned ash handle in the Krumpholz family-run forge in Germany who have been making high quality gardening tools since 1799. Krumpholz offer a lifetime guarantee against material or manufacturing defects. Being carbon steel these tools are best cleaned and dried after use and stored dry and occasionally oiled to help prevent rust.
Care Advice
Hand wash only, and never leave soaking. Dry immediately, followed with a light coating of camellia or a mineral oil. Store in a dry environment to prevent rust formation. A sharp knife is a safe knife — use a honing rod to keep a fine edge, and sharpen with a stone when necessary.
Treat the wooden handle with a mineral oil when necessary to condition the wood and prevent warping and cracking.
