A beautifully glazed, and highly individual batter bowl of stoneware, suitable for use in food preparation or serving, thrown for us locally by Joseph Bull, and salt glazed. Firing in a salt kiln creates a salt glaze, the result of the combination of the firing environment and the introduction of salt into the kiln during the firing, creating a distinctive glaze style. Wheel-thrown by Joseph Bull, a studio potter based in Oxfordshire, who trained with Knighton Mill Pottery and the Leach Pottery in St Ives, before establishing his own studio in Wootton, Oxfordshire. With an approximate height of 8cm, and a diameter of 18cm, each is unique, with glaze and firing variations.
