Lamson Chestnut Knife with Walnut Handle, Stainless Steel
£24.50
Ex Tax: £20.42
A handsome walnut handled stainless steel Chestnut knife that harkens back to seasonal traditions. Crafted from premium high-carbon, high-chromium 12C27 Swedish steel. Cut, ground, polished and sharpened by hand in Massachusetts, this sturdy little knife has a tapering handle with a cut-away thumb hold at the blade end, making it comfortable and easy to grip. The short curved blade is perfect for general peeling, scoring, skinning, and opening. Chestnuts were an essential part of many American diets preceding the great American chestnut blight of the early 20th century. Luckily we still have plenty of them here in the UK in the autumn. Made by Lamson, America’s oldest surviving cutlery company, operating out of Massachusetts since 1837. Blade length of 2.4cm. Hand wash only.
Care Advice
Despite its name, stainless steel is not 100% rust proof. With that in mind, we still recommend hand washing, and storage in a dry environment.
Treat the wooden handle when necessary with a food safe mineral oil to keep the wood from drying out and prevent warping or splitting, which could result in the handle coming loose.
- Weight g 30g
