A traditional and beautiful washing up whisk, with a double winding in light grey nylon thread, which creates a looser end and a tighter end, giving a gentle or tougher scrubbing effect — the tighter end is great for stubborn dirt. Made of rice root, which isn't rice at all but the root of a grass called zatacon, native to the arid Mexican highlands. These are very stiff, being effectively a scouring brush. From Iris Hantverk in Sweden, where visually impaired craftsmen produce beautiful handmade brushes.
Care Advice
Hand wash only. Dry immediately after washing. Wooden items should not be soaked. Treat with a food-safe mineral oil when necessary to to condition the wood and prevent warping and cracking.
