Arthur Wright Swayback Pruning Knife with End Cap

Arthur Wright Swayback Pruning Knife with End Cap
£48.00
Ex Tax: £40.00

A strong pruning knife with a carbon steel blade, brass linings, walnut scales and a protective end cap. The handle is curved for a comfortable reverse grip, allowing the blade to be used against the thumb for the precise pruning of tough stringy green stems. Hand made in Sheffield by apprentice trained cutlers in the workshops of Arthur Wright and sons who for over 65 years have maintained and revived the traditional knife patterns of this noble city.

This blade is made from carbon steel, which keeps a better edge than stainless, but will develop rust spots if left wet or kept damp and will naturally discolour in use — dry after use and oil regularly to keep it in good condition.

By purchasing this item you are confirming that you are over the age of 18, and that we may contact you prior to dispatch in order to verify this. Orders including any bladed items will incur an additional courier age verification charge and legally require delivery to persons aged 18 and over.

Care Advice

Hand wash only, and never leave soaking. Dry immediately, followed with a light coating of camellia or a mineral oil. Store in a dry environment to prevent rust formation. A sharp knife is a safe knife — use a honing rod to keep a fine edge, and sharpen with a stone when necessary.
  • Weight g 80g
  • Item Dimensions Open L17.3 x W1.2 x H2.7, Closed L10.1 x W1.2 x H4.8
  • Materials Walnut wood, brass, and carbon steel
