A hand stitched yard broom or scrubber of bassine, a course and hardwearing Indian palm fibre, held with stainless steel wire in an oiled stock (and handle) of slow growing boreal birch. With excellent water resistance the brush makes an ideal outdoor broom, for patios, driveways, and hard rough surfaces, or for use scrubbing off moss, or swilling away muck. Handmade by the craftspeople of a Finnish visually impaired workers cooperative. Supplied without a handle but these will fit standard 23mm wooden broom handles with a little tapering.
Care Advice
Keep dry when not in use. In the case of wet-use brushes, please shake any excess moisture from the bristles, and dry hanging up or on a surface with the bristles facing down. Clean brushes only when necessary with a little dish soap and hot water, making sure to dry thoroughly. Condition the wooden surface every now and then with a beeswax furniture polish, or mineral oil, to prevent cracks or splitting.
