A simple stoneware bud vase, hand thrown by Simon Horton in his South Oxfordshire studio and reduction fired in a small gas kiln of his own making. With a homemade tenmoku glaze, developed through many hours of experimentation, producing a beautiful glossy black glaze. With an admiration for pots quiet, understated and modest, Simon finds inspiration from medieval slipware to early Chinese and Korean pottery and feeds this back into his work. Height of 10cm, with a diameter of 7cm, approximately.
