Hand-Made French Bird Call, Nightingale
£26.00
Ex Tax: £21.67
A simple hand call of metal and wood, which is turned producing friction noise, which with perfection of pressure, speed, and rhythm, imitates well the nightingale's song. Imbued perhaps with the spirit of Doolittle, M. François Morel, who spent an idyllic childhood amongst the hills of the Rhône-Alpes region, hand crafts these instruments so that he and others might communicate with birds, creating 'toys' to inspire a greater love of nature. Information on the nightingale, and a sample of their song can be found here.
Care Advice
This call works due to the friction between the metal insert and the wooden casing, and the sound will dull if the interior becomes too smooth. We’ve found the best way to restore sound to these calls is with the addition of a little crushed chalk to the inner surface. Store in a dry environment.
