A traditional butter dish comprising a flat dish with a domed lid with handle, hand thrown for us in Oxfordshire. Designed to hold half a standard block of butter. With a stoneware / porcelain mix body, which is salt-fired to create a beautiful dimpled glaze with a toasted brown colour. The interior part of the dish is finished with an ash glaze. Wheel-thrown by Joseph Bull, a studio potter based in Oxfordshire, before establishing his own studio in Wootton, Oxfordshire. Measures approximately 15cm in diameter, 10cm high.
