WaSa Solingen Embroidery Scissors with Leather Case, 3.5"

WaSa Solingen Embroidery Scissors with Leather Case, 3.5"
£22.00
Ex Tax: £18.33

A beautifully adorned pair of embroidery scissors, measuring 3.5" in length, with handles representing the 'Horn of Plenty', a classic embroidery scissors design. Made in Germany from forged carbon steel with blades plate in nickel and handles plated in gold. Their fine points and highly sharpened blades make these a joy to use for smaller sewing projects and embroidery. Comes with a specially fitted leather sheath, for keeping the blades safe between uses.

Founded in 1907 by August Waldmin and Fritz Saam, Waldmin & Saam (AKA WaSa) are known particularly for the delicacy of their embroidery snips — many of WaSa's designs date back over a century or more. Each pair of WaSa scissors requires dozens of individual steps, with painstaking attention to the handcrafted precision worthy of the Solingen, “City of Blades”, standard. Handcrafted from the best steels, hot dropped forged, hardened, tempered, hand ground, plated, polished, and honed, these scissors are made by highly skilled craftsman — a trade learned from father to son for over one hundred years.

Nickel-plated carbon steel scissors require special attention to prevent tarnishing and damage to the blades. Make sure to wipe clean after use, dry thoroughly. Store dry and occasionally oil to protect from humidity.

Overall length 9cm, with a blade length of 3.5cm, and a handle width of 4cm.

By purchasing this item you are confirming that you are over the age of 18, and that we may contact you prior to dispatch in order to verify this. Orders including any bladed items will incur an additional courier age verification charge and legally require delivery to persons aged 18 and over.

Care Advice

Do not cut anything other than fabrics or threads to prevent premature dulling, and avoid moisture at all costs. Wipe with a soft cloth after use, and store in a dry environment. Fabric shears should be professionally sharpened when necessary — please don’t attempt to sharpen with tin foil!
