A salt glazed faceted tea light candle holder, hand-thrown and carved for Objects of Use in iron-rich stoneware by Symy Ong, a mile or so from our brick and mortar shop. Perfect for holding one of our beeswax three hour tea lights from Moorlands candles. Ong, who apprenticed for a year with a Japanese wood-fired pottery, has recently set up studio in Oxford, making stoneware pieces which are fired in a gas kiln. Firing in a salt kiln creates a salt glaze, the result of the combination of the firing environment and the introduction of salt into the kiln during the firing, creating a distinctive glaze style. Measures approximately 6cm diameter, 4cm high — variation is to be expected given the hand-made nature of this product.
