Japanese Earthenware Mug, White with Contrast Rim

A Japanese earthenware straight-sided mug, with a soft natural glaze and a contrasting rim, great for tea and coffee. Made in Aichi Prefecture in Japan by Marumitsu Poterie, established in 1950, who create table and kitchenwares embracing both traditional and modern ceramic techniques, using a diverse range of natural materials (porcelain, stoneware, earthenware and open-fire resistant earthenware). Their collection of tableware and donabes are made from natural clay excavated from the Japanese mountains, shaped and glazed by hand, with dipped or hand-brushed glazes. Measures 7cm in height, with a diameter of 7cm. Comfortably holds 200ml of liquid. Microwave and dishwasher sage, but not oven safe. Small plate sold separately.
