Austrian Enamel Milk Pan 0.5 Litre, Blue
£39.00
Ex Tax: £32.50
A half litre enamelled steel Austrian Schnabeltopf (literally 'beak-pot') or milk pan, for the warming of milk or sauces, or even the boiling of a single egg. Enamel, which is in essence coloured glass fused to a steel ground, marrying a smooth inert surface to a shatter resistant form, has long been the material of choice for warming milk, custards, or other sensitive flavour absorbing drinks or sauces, as it doesn't react to acidity, or retain and transfer flavours. With a diameter of around 10cm this pan comes in a soft blue, with a creamy off-white interior. Made in Ybbsitz in Austria at the hydroelectrically powered metal stamping and enamelling workshops of Riess, a company with an unswerving commitment to both the quality of their produce, and an environmentally, and socially sustainable model of industry.
Care Advice
Suitable on all heat sources, including induction. Use the lowest possible temperature for at least a minute to ensure even heating throughout the pan and prevent warping. This is especially true when using an induction hob, which will heat very quickly and powerfully. Enamel is suitable for use in the oven.
Enamel can chip upon impact. Provided there are only chips on the exterior surface the item will still be safe to use. We recommend repurposing or disposing of enamel products chipped on the interior surface.
Enamel is generally dishwasher safe, though we recommend hand washing especially when items are chipped.
