Koh-I-Noor drawing pencils
£2.25 – £30.00
A set of six mechanical coloured pencils with matching 2mm leads, and a natural rubber eraser in a tin box. The pencils are fitted with a small 'V' shaped lead sharpener behind the removable top button. During the Napoleonic wars a shortage of high quality Cumbrian graphite throughout continental Europe pushed Joseph Hardtmuth to develop a pencil lead made from powdered graphite mixed with clay and in so doing created the very first modern pencil. Today the the company he founded maintains his legacy in the production of traditional and mechanical pencils. Sets of 6 replacement coloured leads or 12 HB grade graphite leads are also available.
