A set of 7 auger gimlets made in France of blackened tempered steel wire. 2mm to 5mm diameters in 0.5mm gradients. A type of hand drill especially useful for piloting screws in delicate materials and hard to reach areas; with greater sensitivity and without the snapping common when using small diameter bits with powered drivers. Primitive seeming but surprisingly quick to use they produce a tapered hole resulting in tighter, stronger joints.
