This durable, thick, hand crocheted trivet is perfect for hot ceramics, such as tea pots, Donabes, as well as other hot cookwares. Complete with a hanging loop to display in the kitchen, and for easy access. Made by Tohoku Crochet based in the nature-rich Tono City, Iwate Prefecture. After the devastation of the 2011 earthquakes in the region, a volunteer knitting workshop was set up for women in the area to help uplift spirits. Naturally, these women became incredibly skilled and passionate for this craft, thus creating Tohoku Crochet. Measures 16cm in diameter.
