Taisetsugama snowflake cup
Thrown and decorated by Kotaro Bando at his third generation family pottery in Kita Arashiyama, Asahikawa. Made of a white semi-porcelain clay, said to be favoured for its likeness to Hokkaido snow and ability to remain true to the colours applied. The crystalline glazes are, again reminiscent of the ice of winter are typical of Taisetsugama, and are produced from glass based glazes developed and still prepared by Toku, Kotaru’s grandfather. About 7cm high, with a diameter of just over 6.5cm.
