Oxfordshire bud vase, Joseph Bull
£35.00
A small vase, designed to hold small sprigs of spring flowers, hand thrown for us in Oxfordshire. With a stoneware / porcelain mix body and a Harwell apple ash glaze, which is gas-fired to create a beautiful depth to the glaze. This ash glaze gives a tremendously varied result, ranging from light green through blush and violet to dark grey, with no two pieces coming out the same. Solidly thrown, giving added stability. Wheel-thrown by Joseph Bull, a studio potter based in Oxfordshire, who trained with Knighton Mill Pottery and the Leach Pottery in St Ives, before establishing his own studio in Wootton, Oxfordshire.
