A simple stoneware small mug, perfect for a small coffee or green tea, hand thrown by Simon Horton in his South Oxfordshire studio and reduction fired in a small gas kiln of his own making. In a homemade ash glaze, developed through many hours of experimentation, producing a matte sage green with speckles of dark brown, characteristic of reduction firing. With an admiration for pots quiet, understated and modest, Simon finds inspiration from medieval slipware to early Chinese and Korean pottery and feeds this back into his work. Height of 7.5cm, with a diameter of 8cm, approximately.
