Sheffield sharpening steel, 5.25"
A small but effective sharpening steel in stainless steel, made in Sheffield. Suitable for sharpening all kinds of blades, including plain and serrated edged, but better for smaller knives. Measures 5.25" overall length, with a small hanging loop to the top end. To sharpen a knife with a sharpening steel, grip the knife, sharp edge down, in one hand, and the steel in the other. Cross them, placing the knife blade against the steel at a 20-degree angle. Pull the knife along the entire length of the steel. Repeat 3 to 5 times on both sides of the knife. Repeat this procedure regularly to ensure a good edge.
