Japanese Hexagonal Rice Bran Wax Candles, 'Rockaku'
£20.00
A box of 10 hand made hexagonal, or “Rockaku”, candles. Renowned for their steady burning and even flame due, in part, to their use of rice bran wax, a hard yellow wax extracted from the otherwise wasted husk and germ of rice. Washi paper wicks, rolled around a rush skewer, are built upon by smoothing hot wax about the shaft after which, in this case, the candles are shaped. Each candle lasts about 60 minutes, and are about 40mm tall, though natural variation and burning conditions may affect the burn time.
