A stubby black and silver metal clutch pencil with a indents along the barrel for a comfortable grip and an integral sharpener secured inside the push button top. Made in the Czech Republic by Koh-I-Noor. During the Napoleonic wars a continental shortage of high quality Cumbrian graphite pushed Joseph Hardtmuth to develop a pencil lead made from powdered graphite mixed with clay and in so doing created the very first modern pencil. Today the the company he founded maintains his legacy in the production of traditional and mechanical pencils, in České Budějovice, Czech Republic. About 11cm total length.
