Simon Horton Stoneware Table Jug, Ash, Small
A small stoneware jug, hand thrown by Simon Horton and reduction fired in South Oxfordshire in a small gas kiln of his own making. With a homemade ash glaze, developed through many hours of experimentation, producing a matte sage green with speckles of dark brown characteristic of reduction firing. With an admiration for pots quiet, understated and modest, Simon finds inspiration from medieval slipware to early Chinese and Korean pottery and feeds this back into his work. Height of 9cm, with a diameter of 8cm, approximately.
