Ox-horn salad servers
Natural ox-horn salad servers - a longer handled spoon and 'fork'. Made from the horn of Nigerian Fulani Ankole cattle - a long horned domesticated beef stock bred and farmed extensively throughout West Africa - and hand cut, shaped, and polished in Carnforth, Lancashire site of Britain's one remaining commercial horn-works. Horn was traditionally preferred over silver or steel for the service of acid foodstuffs as it neither tarnished nor affected flavour. About 18cm overall length, one pair supplied.
