A woven willow ‘Bredan’ (old English for weaving) basket, woven in Worcestershire by Sarah Loughlin using varieties of willow: Old French, Flanders Red, Black Willow, Harrisons Seedling or Dicky Meadows. With a traditional plaited rim and a stepped weave spiralling around the body. The willow is soaked and / or steamed before being painstakingly woven according to precise patterns. Willow baskets are sturdy and long-lasting, as long as they are kept dry and out of direct sunlight (which will fade the willow’s natural colours). Dimensions (approx): Diameter 44cm, Height 23cm.
