Worcestershire willow Faru peg / foraging basket
A woven willow ‘Faru’ (old English for journey) basket, woven in Worcestershire by Sarah Loughlin using three varieties of willow: Old French, Flanders Red and Dicky Meadows. An asymmetrical rising edge topped with a thick stem of hazel allows for easy access to your foraging finds. The willow is soaked and / or steamed before being painstakingly woven according to precise patterns. Willow baskets are sturdy and long-lasting, as long as they are kept dry and out of direct sunlight (which will fade the willow’s natural colours).
