Welsh three colour natural tapestry blanket, Pennsylvania pattern, single
A three natural wool coloured Pennsylvania pattern Welsh tapestry blanket, woven in Cynwyl Elfed, Carmarthenshire on a dobby loom using skills and techniques that go back over 100 years, and in a mill dating back to the 1880's. One of the few surviving of the once flourishing Welsh spinning and weaving industry. The Pennsylvania pattern was originally developed for a North American blanket trader, and named after a state still known for its Welsh settlers, descendants, and connections. The single sized blanket measures approximately 185cm by 255cm.
