Mouth-Blown Glass Silver Bird with Feather Tail
£7.50

A silvered glass bird with a dainty feather for a tail, sitting atop a silver clip, which can be used to help him sit nicely in your festive display. Made in a small lamp workshop in Lauscha, Germany, the town where in 1847 Hans Greiner invented his mouth blowing technique, and where the blowing of Christmas ornaments, lamp-working of glass eyes, animals, even medical equipment, still exists as an almost cottage industry. These are quite delicate, and require gentle handling. 11cm long.
