Finnish Wool Blanket, Natural Woad
A sumptuously warm and thick blanket, made as part of Lapuan Kankurit's project aiming to create blankets wholly made in Finland, including the tending of the sheep from whom the wool comes. After the wool is gathered from local sheep farms, it is washed, spun and woven by the master weavers at Lapuan Kankurit, in the Ostrobothnian district of western Finland. This blanket is woven from yarn which has been dyed using woad, a natural blue dye derived from the woad plant, a yellow-flowered European plant of the cabbage family. Measures approximately 130 x 180cm.
