A small but handy carbon steel blade attached to a black lacquered finger ring from Asano Mokkousho of Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata Prefecture, central Japan. Usually used on the forefinger and like a pruning knife against the pad of the thumb, this is designed for use picking small and soft fruits, especially amidst dense growth or foliage where use of scissors or knives might prove awkward, or even damaging to plant and crop.
