A hand forged carbon steel hoe with an almost semicircular 135mm blade mounted on a crane neck to a straight 350mm poplar wood handle. With a very sharp wide blade these shouldn't be forced too hard into the earth, but allowed to drop doing their own work using mostly just the weight of tool and arm - the purpose being to chop into the earth and through weeds rather than to drag or pull. Like many Japanese tools these are carbon steel and can rust if left wet or stored damp, and are best lightly oiled if left for extended periods. Almost 43cm overall length.
