Ikagata, Japanese cuttlefish hoe
Hand forged using a spring hammer from a billet of Japanese carbon steel, with a shaped white oak handle, secured through the eye with a steel wedge which is simply knocked tighter as required. An obviously versatile tool benefitting from the added weight, balance, and strength its two bladed construction affords. Used for chopping out stubborn weeds and roots, cultivating soil, and raking out debris between bedding plants or vegetables. Very approximately 40cm x 25cm x 8cm.
