A hand forged pocket knife made by Motosuke NAGAO in Miki, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. A fourth generation blacksmith the near eighty years old NAGAO-san is the last holder of the Higonokami trademark specific to the knife makers guild of Miki city, and so the last maker of true and properly named Higonokami. First produced in 1896 these knives of folded brass and carbon steel, possess a simplicity and roughness of finish that belies the quality of their triple layered blue paper steel blades. Supplied with a soft leather sheath. The blade length is about 70mm, overall length roughly 160mm.
