A classic lazy serpentine Ettrick pattern pruning and utility knife, thought to originate amongst the shepherds of Ettrick parish in the Scottish Borders. It has a large reverse curved brass and walnut handle, and relatively small straight edged carbon steel blade. It is ideal for light pruning and trimming towards the thumb. Hand made in the Sheffield workshops of A Wright & Sons who since 1947 have maintained and revived the knife patterns and manufacturing traditions of this noble city.
