A hand-forged, ground, and sharpened small hand scythe, grass-hook, grain sickle, or scythe sickle from Austria; with a carbon steel blade, long cranked tang, and turned beech handle. This is the ideal tool for the rapid cutting back or harvesting of smaller areas of thick grass, nettles, or other dense, green, non-woody stems. Best used very sharp and with short gentle strokes. Although a right handed tool this is also very effective used back-hand in the left. The blade length is approximately 30cm.
