Dustpan no.9 – Japanese caretaker's
A longer handled ‘automatic’ galvanised steel dustpan from a small metal workshop in Osaka, Japan, a company who have specialised in the largely hand fabrication of simple zinc coated household goods for over a century. Best stored hanging, when lowered in use the dustpan rolls forward on its curved base and turning about the axes of the handle and lid automatically opens its mouth as the lower lip lies flush to the floor. Upon lifting the body again rotates downwards, closing the dustpan, and keeping whatever debris has been collected safely inside. Approximately 77cm long with mouth of 28cm and pan height of about 10cm.
