Penny whistle in D
Clarkes original tin penny whistle, created in 1843 by Robert Clarke a farm labourer in Coney Weston in Suffolk. He then walked with his son and a barrow of their belongings to Manchester, where he'd heard opportunities to manufacture abounded, making and selling whistles as he went. Available in the keys of C and D, identifiable by their difference in size, the C being about 12.5" in length, the D about an inch less.
