This Indian ‘whistling sparrow’ tin toy is a remake of the original 1930s Whistling Sparrow. A squeeze of the sprung lever (or ‘tail’) using thumb and forefinger sends air into its bellows. The sparrow then flaps its wings and tweets its whistling chirp. As the wing edges can be sharp, this toy isn’t recommended for children under 14 years.
