A gift set comprising a hand thrown candlestick holder from Symy Ong, and matching hand dipped beeswax candles from Cumbria in two sizes. Thrown for us in a high iron stoneware by Jynsym Ong, a mile or so from the Objects of Use store this candlestick holder is perfect for holding one of our hand-dipped beeswax Dinner or Stubby candles, pairs of each are provided in the set. Ong, who apprenticed for a year with a Japanese wood-fired pottery, has since set up studio in Oxford, making stoneware pieces which are fired in a gas kiln. The candles come from a small candle works in Cumbria and are made entirely of wax from UK hives. Like honey these naturally vary in colour from a deep golden orange through to light creamy yellows mottled with an occasional dusty bloom, and are blessed both in storage and in use with a glorious honeyed scent. The dinner candles each have an estimated 8 hour burn time, and the stubby's a 3.5 hour burn time.
