A wooden salt cellar with a sliding magnetic lid, hand carved by artisans in the north of Africa from Italian olive wood. Perfect for busy kitchens, this salt cellar will keep salt fresh and protected from other elements in the kitchen, whilst conveniently within easy reach. Typically growing in a twisted and irregular manner olive wood has a wonderfully unique grain when carved, and, due to the small sizes of its branches, is often used for smaller utensils such as this one. Care as you would for any other wooden utensil — wash with hot soapy water, never leave soaking wet and give it a bit of food-safe mineral oil once in a while when its looking thirsty. Please do expect small irregularities in shape and colour as this is a hand carved item, with a very variable grain. Approximately 7cm tall, 10cm diameter.
