A wooden reamer to assist the reaming, or juicing of halved lemons and other citrus fruits. Deep grooves and clean-edged ridges create an effective juicing tool; hand carved by artisans in the north of Africa from Italian olive wood. Typically growing in a twisted and irregular manner, olive wood has a wonderfully unique grain when carved, and, due to the small sizes of its branches, is often used for smaller utensils such as this one. Care as you would for any other wooden utensil — wash with warm soapy water, never leave soaking wet and give it a bit of food-safe mineral oil once in a while when required. Please do expect small irregularities in shape and colour as this is a hand carved item, with a very variable grain. Approximately 15cm long, 5cm diameter.
