Objects of Use in the FT
Tyler Brûlé on Objects of Use

Tyler Brule

“Objects of Use has done a great job curating products from Japan, Germany, Northern Ireland, Sweden and beyond"

In January 2015, Tyler Brûlé, editor-in-chief of Monocle magazine and Chairman / CEO of WInkreative, during his decade-long tenure as writer of a weekly column at the Financial Times, wrote a piece summarising his perception of the opportunities presenting themselves to businesses across the globe, summarising with the following:

‘Finally, looking south, I see Italy and its manufacturers making amazing products that sell largely in their home market but would find a place on shelves across the world. Just as UK company Objects of Use has done a great job curating products from Japan, Germany, Northern Ireland, Sweden and beyond, a clever Italian entrepreneur could create a business focusing on the best of the country’s manufacturers, including slippers from South Tyrol, chopping boards from Piedmont, door handles from Veneto and paper products from Florence.’

Maybe it’s time we started a retail revolution?
