Mokulock, wooden building blocks
£23.50 – £45.00
A curious mix of of high technology and natural materials, perhaps serving as a reminder that the future need not be entirely synthetic. Produced in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan, using machinery adapted from the production and assembly of electrical components, and of timber thinned from local forests but of a size and quality unsuited to architectural or furniture use. Made without the use of varnish, wax, or oil finishes, these are supplied in packs of 24 or 48 (supplied with a Japanese towel with tree names in English and Japanese) mixed timber blocks of Japanese cherry, Japanese big-leaf magnolia, maple, birch, hornbeam, and Japanese zelkova. Each block measures approximately 16mm x 32mm x 13mm.
