Japanese shuro broom, tall
£120.00

A long, bamboo-handled, copper-bound, seven bundle shuro floor broom particularly recommended for wooden (or tatami) floors as the fibres contain natural oils especially beneficial to these surfaces. Shuro is an interwoven fibrous sheath harvested from the trunk of hemp palms. Bound and finished in Wakayama prefecture, Japan, by the craftsmen of Yamamoto Katsunosuke Shoten, one of a handful of remaining ‘Edo’ broom makers still active in Japan, from Chinese grown, cut, and bundled shuro. About 120cm long.
