A ceramic mug with antique charm, akin to that of a beer barrel or Krug. Made from earthenware with a deep indigo glaze. Made in Aichi Prefecture in Japan by Marumitsu Poterie, established in 1950, who create table and kitchenwares embracing both traditional and modern ceramic techniques, using a diverse range of natural materials (porcelain, stoneware, earthenware and open-fire resistant earthenware). Their collection of tableware and donabes are made from natural clay excavated from the Japanese mountains, shaped and glazed by hand, with dipped or hand-brushed glazes. Measures 10cm in height, with a diameter of 10cm. Comfortably serves 460ml of liquid. Microwave and dishwasher safe, but not oven safe.
