Iron melting pot
A small but heavy pre-seasoned cast iron melting pot, crucible shaped and spouted to both sides. As cast iron distributes heat more evenly than lighter materials these pots are especially suited to the gentle heating and melting of butter or chocolate, and warming through delicate sauces. If used for acid or fruit sauces it may require occasional re-seasoning - please see our weblog for a extensive guide. Made at the Lodge foundry, South Pittsburg, Tennessee. Capacity about 15oz, diameter about 4.5".
