Packets of 20 sharps and darners or, 40 sharps and milliners, general purpose sewing needles still made using the original machines at the museum factory of La Manufacture Bohin in Saint Sulpice sur Risle, Normandy — since 1952 the only needle producer still working in France. Made of nickel plated steel these are the needles for which the company of Bohin became most renowned, being properly sharpened, tapered, and polished for easier and snag free hand work. The pack of 20 consists of sharps 5, 7, and 9, with darners 3 and 5; the pack of 40 sharps 3, 5, 7, and 9, with milliners 3, 5, and 7. The larger pack is also supplied with a threader.
