Japanese Hand Forged Hand Azada or Grub Hoe

A blacksmith forged, carbon steel hoe with a parallel-sided 12cm blade mounted onto a straight 35cm poplar wood oval-profile handle. With a strong, gently curved blade, great for opening up overgrown areas, digging holes, weeding, and ploughing ripe soil. To use this grubbing hoe (also called an Azada), simply raise the hoe into the air, and bring down onto the soil you wish to move, allowing the weight of the tool to do the work, then pull the tool towards you to loosen the soil. Move and repeat.
