Morris grass hooks and harvesting knives
£13.50 – £22.00
A choice of two curved cutting knives from Morris & Sons of Dunsford, a Devon village on the very edge of Dartmoor, and home to their once water powered forge and workshop that has produced similar edge tools since the 1820s. Traditionally left slightly unfinished, to be shaped and honed to suit the users needs.
The harvesting knife is a lightly curved vegetable harvesting and trimming knife typically called a beet knife and used for cropping and field trimming brassicas or root vegetables but pretty effective too when used for brush clearing or as a kind of curved hacking knife. Blade length about 25cm.
The grass hook is a heavier sickle shaped hook used for cutting back long grass, thick weeds, brambles, light brush clearing, and hacking back green new growth stems. Approximate hook diameter of 30cm.
